Jewish life in Basel extends back over a period of eight hundred years. The city tour provided by the Bâleph app renders this part of Basel’s history visible virtually. With stories about the turbulent events in the lives of the city’s Jewish population and about how Basel became a setting for world events.
By way of 13 different stops, Bâleph takes you on a multimedia tour of the prettiest squares and alleyways in Basel – from Gerbergasse up to the Pfalz (viewing terrace), from the Rhine across Petersplatz to the synagogue, via the Heuberg down to the Barfüsserplatz. The app contains 65 minutes of audio-material covering a tour lasting 1 ½ to 2 hours.
