  2. Audio tour Summary

    Distance: 11.8km / 7.3mi (9.9km/6.15mi)
    Elevation: low
    Rotation: clockwise
    Parks/Pedestrian: 6.1km (ca 52%)
    Urban constraints: low
Suggested start: Jungfernstieg / as any urbirun route, you can start wherever you want. Watch for the route rotation direction.

Public transportation: underground, lines U1, U2, U4 - Jungfernstieg station / many bus lines.

Hamburg, Germany's second city, has a turbulent history. Major hanseatic city with a rich history, it was destroyed by fire and rebuilt, then 80% destroyed by the World War II bombings. But Hambourg is still there, alive and vibrant, open to the world. Discover the canals around the Old Town, the new district of HafenCity, run along the red brick warehouses, the river Elbe's banks, and browse several parks in Germany's greenest city. And then, you can have a well deserved beer in its famous red light district of Reeperbahn, which gets less nasty, but still very lively.

*Alternative route: the route can be shortened. Listen to indication, when you can choose.

NB: if you are unsure, check your position on the map and the track.

You can as well get the .gpx route (for example for your sport watch) of this tour here, for as low as 0.1euro/km.
