The Memorial centre ASNOM in the village of Pelintse, the municipality of Staro Nagorichane - unique blend of culture and nature

The Memorial centre ASNOM is located in the municipality of Staro Nagorichane along the bank of the river Pchinja, that is approximately 30 km far from the city of Kumanovo, and 65 km from the capital city of Skopje. Here, visitors can enjoy beautiful natural environment and many attractions the complex offers, such as: traditional restaurant, car parks, sports fields, play areas for children, and the most important building - The Memorial Museum of  ASNOM (Anti-fascist Assembly for national liberation of Macedonia). 

The magnificent museum (part of the centre ASNOM) is dedicated to the first session of ASNOM that was held on the 2nd of August 1944 in the monastery of Prohor Pchinjski in Serbia. The museum houses the faithful copy of the original room in the Monastery in Serbia where the first session was held. The visitors can also see photos and documents that bear witness to the creation of the Macedonian state in federation with other Yugoslav people. 

The entrance wall of the museum is decorated with a mosaic (named Macedonium) - a masterpiece of the renowned Macedonian artist Rubens Korubin and his students from the Faculty of Arts in Skopje. 

The Memorial centre was officially opened on the 2nd of August 2004 to mark the 60th anniversary of the first session of ASNOM. It is of a great historical importance for the country - the first Macedonian state was formally proclaimed under the name Democratic Federal Macedonia, as well as the Macedonian as an official language. The Memorial centre was built in 2004 on the basis of the Macedonian architect Georgi Konstantinovski project as one of the most visited destinations by domestic and foreign tourists on the cultural map of North Macedonia.
